Sometimes the hardest part of school is keeping track of school.

Assignments. Tests. Projects. Missing work. Sports. Activities. Teacher emails. The thing that's due tomorrow that somehow nobody remembered.

It can be a lot—for students and their parents.

I provide weekly organization and accountability support for middle and high school students who could use a little help keeping all the pieces in one place.

What I Do

Each week, with parent authorization, I review your student's school platforms and relevant teacher communications and create a personalized weekly calendar that brings everything together:

• Upcoming assignments and deadlines
• Missing or retake work
• Tests and projects
• Teacher notes and updates
• Optional additional of sports, activities, appointments, and other commitments

The student and parent receive the updated calendar along with a quick note about the week's priorities.

And if a student wants to talk through the week, a 15-minute phone or Zoom check-in is included.

The goal?

Not to manage your student forever.

It's to help them learn how to see what's coming, figure out what matters most, and keep moving.

And, perhaps equally important, to give parents a break from asking:

"Did you check Schoology?"

Students have editing access to their calendars, with the hope that one day, they’ll take the whole thing over themselves.

A Little About Me

I've been doing this kind of weekly organization and academic planning for middle and high school students for the past six years.

Before becoming a writer and founder of Poplar & Prose, I spent my career as a corporate paralegal at a Fortune 500 company, where I provided executive support to the company's Board of Directors and substantive support to the legal team.

In other words, organization, deadlines, details, and keeping track of a lot of moving pieces are very much my thing.

These days, I bring those skills to helping teenagers—and their parents—navigate the wonderfully chaotic years of middle school and high school.
